TEACHERS AS GUIDES

EDUCATION APPROACH

More than mere teachers, we see ourselves as facilitators and guides, creating a learning environment centered around the child. We observe and respect each child’s individuality, fostering independence and critical thinking. Our role is to support social development and encourage hands-on exploration, cultivating a love for learning and promoting self-discovery. We aim to help children develop essential life skills while instilling in them a passion for lifelong learning.

As leaders, we hold lifelong learning as a core value, continuously striving to enhance our ability to nurture children’s growth and development effectively. We are committed to our own professional growth through attending professional development opportunities, participating in meetings held by the director, and engaging in ongoing training.

At Montessori Children’s House of Miami Lakes, all lead teachers are certified Montessori teachers. They have undergone comprehensive training in Montessori education, which includes:

Child Development: Understanding the developmental stages of children, from early childhood through adolescence, and how to support their growth in a Montessori environment.
Montessori Philosophy: In-depth study of Maria Montessori’s educational philosophy, emphasizing respect for the child, self-directed learning, and the importance of a prepared environment.star
Curriculum and Materials: Hands-on training with Montessori materials and curriculum, covering core subjects like math, language, practical life, sensorial activities, and cultural studies.
Classroom Management: Techniques for managing a Montessori classroom, which often includes multi-age groupings, fostering independence, and creating an environment that encourages exploration and learning.
Observation and Assessment: Skills in observing students to understand their individual needs and progress, as well as methods for assessing their development.

This rigorous training ensures that our lead teachers are well-equipped to provide a high-quality Montessori education, nurturing each child’s unique potential in a supportive and prepared environment.
